Half of the brands we work with cannot run a standard Google or Meta campaign. Skin marketplaces, case opening sites, crypto casinos, trading apps, Solana gaming platforms. Their product is legal where they operate, their audience is huge, and their ads get rejected within an hour.
The rules exist. They are just scattered across a dozen policy pages, written in legal language, and updated without notice. This page puts them in one place.
We maintain this table because we need it internally. If it saves you a rejected campaign, link to it and we will keep it updated.
This is a reference, not legal advice. Ad policies change several times a year and vary by country. Always confirm against the platform’s own policy page (linked in Sources) and your legal counsel before launching. Last verified: 28 September 2026.

Not allowed / Banned means the vertical is explicitly prohibited.
Platform details
Google Ads
Crypto: Google allows advertising for exchanges, software wallets and hardware wallets in an approved list of roughly 50 jurisdictions (including the US, Canada, the 27 EU member states, the UK, Switzerland and Norway), provided the advertiser is registered with the relevant local regulator and completes Google’s certification. Categories are exchanges, software wallets, hardware wallets and coin trusts. Wallets that only store crypto (no buy/sell/swap/stake) are treated more leniently. ICOs, DeFi yield products and celebrity-endorsed tokens are prohibited.
Trading and CFDs: allowed with certification in countries where the advertiser holds a licence, with strict risk-disclosure rules. CFDs and other complex speculative products are restricted.
iGaming: allowed for licensed operators in a defined list of countries, each with its own certification. Google refreshed its gambling certification forms and standards in August 2026 and, from September 2026, requires all accounts advertising in any gambling category to demonstrate “good policy health.” Crucially, Google’s definition of gambling now explicitly includes games using virtual currencies or items with real-world value — so skin gambling, case opening and crypto casinos fall under full gambling restrictions, and unlicensed skin gambling is prohibited.
What works instead: Google Display through licensed affiliates, YouTube creator sponsorships (see below), and SEO. Read our guide on SEO for gaming brands.
Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Audience Network)
Crypto: exchanges, wallets and trading platforms may advertise after obtaining written permission. As of a March 2026 revision, Meta operates a tiered authorization system: advertisers submit a recognized regulatory licence (Meta now accepts 27 regulators, up from three), proof of custody insurance for customer funds, and compliance certification from a recognized auditor. Storage-only wallets and blockchain education/news are exempt.
iGaming: real money gambling requires written permission and is limited to specific countries. Approval is tied to a domain and can be revoked.
Skin trading: no explicit policy. Ads for marketplaces are frequently approved and then rejected on re-review. Case opening sites are treated as gambling and are not allowed.
What works instead: creator content on Instagram Reels through the creator’s own account, whitelisting, and community-driven growth. See how we approach gaming community building.
TikTok Ads
TikTok is the most restrictive major platform for these verticals. Crypto exchanges and trading platforms may be permitted in a small set of countries with prior approval, but virtual currencies, crypto cards, wallets, advisory services and NFT trading are restricted, and CFDs, spread betting and binary options are prohibited outright. Gambling ads are limited to approved markets with licence verification and responsible-gambling messaging. Skin trading and case opening are effectively closed.
What works instead: organic creator partnerships with clear disclosure. Content that references the product without a direct CTA performs well and rarely gets removed. Spark Ads on creator content is sometimes approved where a direct brand ad is not.
X Ads
X lifted its cryptocurrency and gambling advertising bans in March 2026, removing the entire financial-products category (loans, investment services, crypto, NFTs) and gambling from its prohibited list. These are now allowed with restrictions on claims and country targeting, and X’s Paid Partnership framework requires influencers to label compensated posts. In practice X is now the most permissive of the mainstream ad platforms for these verticals, though enforcement is less consistent and the advertiser carries compliance responsibility.
YouTube (creator sponsorships, not Google Ads)
Sponsorships negotiated directly with creators fall under YouTube’s community and monetization guidelines rather than Google Ads policy. Crypto, trading and skin trading are generally allowed with clear disclosure. Case opening and casino sponsorships put the creator at risk of demonetization and age restriction, so top creators increasingly refuse them.
Twitch
Twitch prohibits streaming of and linking to unlicensed gambling sites whose games include slots, roulette or dice — the 2022 policy that named Stake, Rollbit, Duelbits and Roobet, and still stands. Skin gambling and case opening are chance-based and fall under the ban. Sports betting, fantasy sports and poker remain allowed, as do skin trading, crypto and trading platforms as sponsors.
Kick
Kick remains the primary destination for gambling and case-opening creator sponsorships, but it is no longer a free-for-all: through 2025–2026 it introduced mandatory 18+ verification, restricted streaming to approved gambling sites, ended hourly payouts for slots/casino creators, and prohibited gambling with viewer-supplied funds. Streamers must be in a jurisdiction where online gambling is legal. Crypto, trading and skin trading remain broadly allowed.
Reddit Ads
Reddit allows crypto with restrictions — the advertiser must be a licensed entity in a permitted jurisdiction and include risk disclosures — but ads for single tokens, coins, ICOs and IDOs are never allowed. Gambling requires a licence and country restrictions apply. Reddit is underused by gaming brands and CPMs are low; subreddit targeting makes it effective for skin trading and crypto gaming.
Telegram Ads
Telegram’s official ad platform accepts crypto with factual, non-hyped claims and no licence upload, applying stricter moderation to copy and landing pages instead. Gambling and iGaming are officially prohibited in Telegram’s ad guidelines, though in practice they are moderated as a restricted category, and third-party Telegram ad networks operate under looser rules. Telegram channels and bots are also a direct acquisition channel that bypasses ads entirely, especially in RU/CIS and MENA.
When you are blocked: the four channels that always work
- Creator programs with attribution. Creators on YouTube, Twitch, Kick and TikTok can promote what platforms will not let you advertise, as long as disclosure rules are respected. Every creator gets a UTM link and a CPA target. This is how we scaled a crypto platform from 10 to 60+ active creators in 90 days. See creator programs.
- Community. Discord, Telegram and Reddit communities are owned channels with no ad review. They compound. See our community growth playbook.
- SEO. Search is the only channel where the platform does not review your product before showing it. It is slow and brutally competitive in gaming, but it is permanent.
- Native placements. Esports tournament sponsorships, team partnerships and in-content placements with organizers who accept the vertical.

Compliance checklist before any campaign
- Confirm your license or registration matches the platform’s approved regulator list for each target country.
- Get certification tied to the exact domain you will advertise. Subdomains and redirects often break approval.
- Include mandated risk disclosures in copy and creative, not only on the landing page.
- Apply age gating on the landing page and in ad targeting where required.
- Keep a record of approvals. Re-reviews happen and approvals get lost.
- Brief every creator in writing on disclosure and prohibited claims.
